The installations at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona are going to have a facelift before the start of the 2009 season. Work will be done on the paddock, the main stand, the other buildings in the vicinity and the press room. Moreover, the owners of the circuit are proposing the creation of a cover for the “pelousse”.
The 2009 pre-season got off the ground on 27th October at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, in Valencia Spain. The very same venue where the 2008 World Championship had ended the day before. The next practice session will not be held too far away from there either. The Spanish track of Jerez will host three new sessions of training, between 26th–28th November. This is because the teams are working flat out to prepare for the next and very different World Championship – with just one tyre supplier.
In spite of being on holiday Dani Pedrosa has his mind fixed on the forthcoming season, when he will have one overriding objective, to gain “consistency and regularity”. The Repsol rider will be fighting for the world title next year having finished third this year, after a string of setbacks dotted throughout the whole year ruined his title chances.
