The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has approved the new technical regulations that will govern the World Rally Championship from 2010. The cars that compete in the world championship will be based on Super 2000 cars, but with certain improvements. This measure will, without a doubt, be received with certain controversy.

The final day of the Wales Rally GB decided the classification. Loeb overtook Latvala giving the French Citröen team another WRC Constructors` Championship. The team`s brilliant performance was rounded off with Sordo in third place. Petter Solberg was fourth leaving Andersson and Duval to follow him up.

Sébatien Loeb is considered by many the greatest driver in the history of rallies. Not in vain, the French driver is the first to win five world titles and can still extend his list of wins over the next few years. The latest person to praise the Citröen rider is Marcus Grönholm, World Champion in 2000 and 2002.

In spite of there being one round left in this year`s WRC there is already a World Champion for the 2008 season, none other than Sébastien Loeb who has won the title for the fifth time on the trot. The Frenchman finished in third place in the Rally Japan, behind the Finnish drivers Hirvonen and Latvala, but that was enough.
